RDS can record many pieces of information on families and individuals that aren’t specifically defined in the RDS software (such as birthdates or baptism dates).

For example, in Family/Organization Maintenance (MR101) on the Individual Info tab, in addition to a short and a long field for recording individual information, there are also seven user-defined “other” fields and six user-defined date fields for recording information not recorded elsewhere in RDS. In the example below we have defined fields for “Birthplace,” “Baptized Church,” and many others. There are also six user-defined date fields available. The member records detail report, MR301D, has options for printing one user-defined date field and one user-defined “other” field.
