Mobile data processing represents the wave of the future that is already here. The ability to conduct outreach and ministry while “on-the-go” provides pastors, staff and members convenient tools. RDS church management software includes a number of special features for mobile access.
Cell phones and tablets:
Cell phones can use these features but the small screen limits usefulness. When purchasing tablets for this use people should make sure the model they buy does support PocketCloud Pro.
PocketCloud Pro and Terminal Services need to be installed. Both Windows and Macs have Terminal Services downloads. PocketCloud Pro is an app that costs about $14.99.
Lap-top computers:
Lap-top computers do not need PocketCloud Pro, but do need Terminal Services. Most will have this as part of their Windows operating system. Macs may or may not come with Terminal Services, but Apple has a download.
Installation:
RDS Advantage does NOT need to be installed on any of these devises for remote access.
It is the responsibility of users to install Terminal Services and set up their secure link to the server, whether the Cloud or their on-site server.
If connecting to their on-site server users will need their IT to provide access through their firewall. RDS cannot do that.
RDS will provide users with what is needed for an icon they place on their desktop for connection.
If providing this capability to more people users may need to add additional concurrent licenses.
Transient Licenses:
Synergex gives RDS the ability to provide “Transient” licenses for uses such as Insta Check-In at a discounted price. The user must sign an agreement that each transient user will not be logged into RDs more than six hours per week. A transient license is a one-time cost of $75.00, plus $25.00 for each additional year.
RDS Church Management Software:
RDS Applications that are especially useful for remote access are:
Insta Check-In
Quick Check-In
Contact Management
Comprehensive Inquire
Member Records Notebook
Group Leaders
